Bad things happen in the dark… Leave the lights on.
Yvonne Heidt has won multiple awards for her paranormal…. Wait – Stop…
Here is where I’m supposed to put a few paragraphs about me that makes it look to be written by someone else.
What is it that readers want to know about an author?
I’ve been known to be psychic so I should know, right?
Oh, look! There. I’ve told you something about me.
The easy stuff is I live in Texas with an amazing woman I’ve been with for over eighteen years and we share our house with four dogs whom I have entire conversations with.
It all sounds pretty vanilla.
Wouldn’t it be more exciting to say I live in a haunted Victorian house overlooking the ocean? Where we take early morning walks on the sand, I spend the afternoons writing in the turret, and we sip wine and watch the gorgeous sunsets from our deck over the rolling waves?
Wouldn’t that be fabulous?
Since I don’t, I’ll throw a couple of fun facts in here.
I was born in the Haight-Ashbury district in San Francisco in the early sixties during the hippie revolution and we lived in the same apartment building as Jimi Hendrix.
But, not at the same time.
If none of this works for you, we could go back to the small snippet bio that I wrote:
“No one is more surprised about being an award winning author than Yvonne Heidt herself.”
While growing up, her mother constantly asked her, “Where do you come UP with this stuff, Yvonne?”
The answer was, and is — always the same.
“I don’t know. I just make it up as I go along.”
Or my favorite: “Yvonne Heidt lives in her own little world that she’s named Vonnie-Land. She considers herself to be a charismatic Libra Goddess.”
The author stuff that professionals may use…
Her debut novel, Sometime Yesterday, won the 2013 Golden Crown Literary Award for Best Paranormal Romance in addition to being a finalist in the 2013 Lambda Literary Awards, and placing in the 2013 Rainbow awards.
The Awakening: Book One in the Sisters of Spirits Trilogy, won the 2014 Golden Crown Literary award for Best Paranormal. The Quickening: Book Two was a GCLS finalist in 2015, and The Deadening: Book Three in the SOS series won the 2016 Golden Crown Literary Award for Best Paranormal.
She switched it up with her – what she calls her ‘paranormal-lite mode’ and turned the dial up on an opposites attract romance, Meet Me in the Middle. She considers herself extremely blessed to have finished the book after her heart attack. She believes the laugh out laughter was the reason her recovery was so quick.
Then, Ms. Heidt turned around again and kicked her writing up to ‘dark paranormal ‘ which she says scared the hell out of her when she was writing up a storm in her office.
